TEC® Searmaster® II
The Best-Performing Under-fired Gas Broiler Ever Built.
Winner of Two Top Innovation Awards in the Industry:
TEC Infra-Red Cooking Systems, a division of Thermal Engineering Corporation, is proud to introduce the Searmaster II Infra-red Charbroiler, a new, breakthrough line of charbroilers that's so innovative it received the Kitchen Innovations 2006 Award presented by the National Restaurant Association, Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show, incurring May 20-23, 2006. This new cooking system also won the GFEN Product of the Year 2006 Award presented by the Gas Foodservice Equipment Network. Accentuating the greatness of this product, this same technology, used in TEC's new consumer grills, won Hearth and Home Magazine's 2005 Vesta Awards for both Best New Gas Barbecue and Best New Outdoor Room Product at the 2005 Hearth, Patio, and Barbecue Expo in Atlanta.

The Searmaster II Gives foodservice operators an extraordinary return on investment through savings in gas, labor, and food cost, while improving product quality for customers.
- Cooks with 100% infrared energy, greatly reducing shrinkage and moisture loss in food, leaving it more tender and juicy. All other charbroilers cook with hot air which dries out food, but because TEC's Searmaster II cooks with 100% infrared energy, food retains its own natural juices. Even well done meat remains tender and juicy while less quality cuts are surprisingly tender and moist. And because food shrinks less, there is less weight loss - about 30% less shrinkage than standard charbroilers.
- Infuses food with a charbroil taste and without flare-ups. TEC's new 100% infrared grilling system combines our patented radiant metal panel with our new patent-pending, all-metal burner. These radiant metal panels, block the air flow that causes flare-ups and vaporize food drippings to create a smokey vapor that imparts a delicious charbroil taste. The radiant metal allows marinades and sauces to be poured directly on top of the food without wasting a drop - they stay close to the food instead of running through the grates, until they are vaporized . Wood chips can be placed directly on the panels, eliminating the need for a smoker box. And small items, such as shrimp or vegetables, can be put directly on the cooking grids - the metal panel prevents them from falling through.
- Requires minimal cleaning. With TEC's revolutionary new cooking system, clean up is fast and easy. Our radiant panels, located below the cooking grids, vaporize food drippings, creating a light residue of ash that settles on the panels. These panels are easily cleaned by scraping them with a spatula.Similarly, the stainless steel cooking grids can be maintained with simple burn-off and wire brush cleaning. Together, these two cleaning procedures require no more than 2-3 minutes per cooking zone. The simplicity alone will yield great labor savings.
- Is virtually maintenance free. The Searmaster II is the only charbroiler constructed of 100% stainless steel, virtually eliminating maintenance associated with rust through.Other charbroilers require rebuilding on an average every two years when used continuously. But TEC's Searmaster II's robust 12-gauge stainless steel structure is designed to last. Additionally, the burners in our charbroilers are protected from food drippings and other falling debris. Made of 100% stainless steel, they are ultra tough in their own right.
- Is estimated to save enough in energy costs in two years to pay for itself.TEC's new breakthrough technology employed by the Searmaster II is the most fuel-efficient system ever built.Recognized by the EnergySolutions Center and gas companies across the country at the ESC conference in October, the Searmaster II uses up to 50% less fuel than conventional charbroilers and is estimated, depending on the hours of use per day, to pay for itself in energy savings within 2 years.
- Provides uniform distribution of heat across the cooking surface. Most chefs agree that this is an amazing benefit of the Searmaster II.Food cooks evenly across the cooking surface because there are no hot or cold spots. This is accomplished through the special design of our patent-pending burner that distributes heat evenly throughout the cooking zone.
- Has an amazing range of temperature and versatility. TEC grills heat up fast - ready to be used within 7 minutes after lighting. They also have an unprecedented range of cooking intensity. Because the cooking grids reach temperatures of up to 200°F higher than other grills, food sears more rapidly and seldom sticks to the cooking surface, creating the scored grill marks on meat and vegetables for the perfect presentation. However, on low fire, the Searmaster II cooks dramatically cooler allowing food to simmer as well as sear. The Searmaster II can even be used as a conventional stove top - simply place cookware on the grids or remove them and cook directly on top of the radiant panels.
